The 2-day international conference ‘Transforming State Socialism in East-Central Europe: Historical Sociology of the Long Change’ (September 30 & October 1) takes place at Staszic Palace, on the premises of the Graduate School for Social Research, GSSR (rooms 286 and 232).The purpose of this event is to promote and strengthen sociohistorical research on the transformations of state socialism in East-Central Europe, focusing on the continuities and change. The keynote lectures are delivered by Prof. Joanna Wawrzyniak (University of Warsaw) and Dr Michal Kopeček (Czech Academy of Sciences), with many interesting presentations by PhD students and established researchers from Poland and abroad.
