Warmest Congratulations to Our PhD Candidates on Their Successful Defences!

We are proud to celebrate the successful doctoral defenses of Chun (June) Yeung and Szymon Mąka!

Chun (June) Yeung defended her dissertation titled “Emotional Fabric of Society: Emotional Environments, Congruence, and Discrepancies from a Macro Perspective”, completed under the supervision of Prof. Kazimierz M. Słomczyński. The dissertation was reviewed by Prof. Keiko Ishii from Nagoya University, Dr. Takeshi Hamamura from Curtin University in Australia, and Prof. Magdalena Żemojtel-Piotrowska from UKSW.

Szymon Mąka successfully defended his dissertation, “Disentangling Bottom-Up and Top-Down Mechanisms Associated with Social Information Processing in Loneliness Across Behavioral and Neural Levels of Analysis,”
(Polish title: Wyodrębnianie mechanizmów oddolnych i odgórnych związanych z przetwarzaniem informacji społecznych w samotności na poziomie behawioralnym i neurofizjologicznym), guided by the supervision of Dr. hab. Łukasz Okruszek, Prof. IP PAN. The dissertation was evaluated by Prof. Marcin Zajenkowski, Prof. Michał Wierzchoń, and Dr. hab. Jarosław Żygierewicz, Prof. UW.
