RESEARCH GRANTS

National Science Centre’s (NCN) PRELUDIUM grant

All persons of any nationality who are doctoral students at a Polish academic institution are eligible for a PRELUDIUM research grant. You can apply for a 12-, 24- or 36-month project, each with its own maximum funding (70,000, 140,000 or 210,000 PLN respectively and as of 2023). Your remuneration as the PI (Principal Investigator) will amount to 1,500 PLN per month. Your PhD supervisor will act as the project mentor (no remuneration involved). If awarded the grant, you will have to reside in Poland for at least 50% of the project duration.

Calls for PRELUDIUM usually open in March each year and the deadline is in June. Every NCN grant follows a specific grant application structure and is submitted through an online submission system.

Please check the most recent PRELUDIUM call on NCN’s website for more information (https://www.ncn.gov.pl/en)
