Appeals Commission

The Appeals Commission will meet during July to consider appeals from candidates (Polish and non-Polish) who believe that in their case the published recruitment procedures were not followed.
Appeals may be submitted in writing to the School within fourteen days of the appearance of this announcement (in hard copy or by e-mail to sns@sns.edu.pl). You should state clearly your reasons for believing that in your case your application was not dealt with according to the published recruitment procedures
The Commission will not review academic decisions of the Recruitment Commission made in accordance with the published procedures

While the essence of GSSR experience is pursuit of interdisciplinary doctoral studies in which students make their own choice of courses from more than 50 courses offered, students who wish to gain particular expertise in Cross-National Interdisciplinary Studies may now follow a marked "route" indicating a series of courses on successful completion of which they will gain an additional certificate indicating that specific expertise has been gained in the above named area. Erasmus Charter
It is our pleasure to announce, that the Graduate School for Social Research (GSSR) of the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology (IFiS) is the first institution of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN) to receive an Erasmus charter for 2007-2013.

New validation agreement
Representatives of Lancaster University have completed the quinquennial review visit. A new agreement for the next 5 years is being prepared for signature. Discussions are under way to add Lancaster validation of the GSSR PhD programme to current MA validation arrangements, thereby allowing students to choose whether they wish to work for the award of a British or a Polish (IFiS PAN) doctoral diploma.
